T-2 days for take-off

We went to the Foothills Parkway in the Smoky Mountains today. Zach wanted to get a last look at the mountains before we leave. Not a final goodbye but just a see you later. It was really sunny and warm, so it was a perfect day to go. I'm sure that Houston's got its beauties... but its going to be pretty flat in comparison.

We are t-2 days prior to departing for New Orleans. We have yet to pack anything. Yesterday, we went out to dinner, and the movies with Zach's family. We watched a terrible movie, Dead Man Down, that we definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone. We had a lovely time though, until we got stuck in a ditch. It had been raining all day, and we got stuck in the mud while Zach tried to turn around in a cul-de-sac (or in Zach's terms: an unfinished dead end road). It only took 45 minutes for a tow truck to come to the rescue. We are now down 100$ and a pair of my shoes. On the bright side, the car wasn't damaged, it was just Zach's take on modern day muddin'.

Tomorrow we are going to Zach's papaw's house early in the morning, for what we assume is homemade biscuits and gravy. In return, Zach will be building his papaw's new computer, while I watch, trying to manage my nerves over the 234792374 things we have to do before Friday.

Here's a link to our photo album, with a few more pictures from the outing.
